Mari Øyrehagen is a Norwegian soprano based in Copenhagen and Oslo.

 

At age 19 she started a bachelor’s degree in classical singing at the Norwegian Academy of Music. After two years she went to Stuttgart, Germany to continue her studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst. She finished her bachelor’s degree in July 2015.

 

During the time in Stuttgart, she studied under the Norwegian soprano Turid Karlsen, and attended masterclasses taught by Alessandro de Marchi, Emma Kirkby and Margreet Honig among others.

In December 2020 Mari finished her master's degree in classical singing at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where she studied under Susanna Eken and Helene Gjerris.

 

Mari is an active soloist and has performed works such as Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Leçon de Ténèbres by Couperin, Mass in Eb by Schubert, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and several of his cantatas. She has regularly performed as an ensemble singer with The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir.

 

Since January 1st, 2021, Mari is a member of Vor Frue Kantori, the professional vocal ensemble in Copenhagen Cathedral (Vor Frue Kirke) where she regularly sings in the morning services that are transmitted live on television and radio.

 

Mari became a member of the world-renowned, Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Ars Nova Copenhagen in June 2021.
